Anthony Hudson and Sek San Ratree held a press conference ahead of Thailand's opening match in the ASEAN Cup 2026 against Laos.
On 24 July 2026 at 11:10 AM, at Dok Koon 1 room of the Hilton Hotel in Vientiane, Laos, the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) held a press conference before the first group stage match of Group B between Thailand, ranked 94th in the world, and Laos, ranked 185th.
The press conference was led by head coach Anthony Hudson, accompanied by the team's midfielder Sek San Ratree.
At the event, Hudson said, "We must start well. We will approach this game positively, with aggression and determination. We want to begin this tournament strongly."
"Regarding the question, I can say we are not the favorites. Our team has many young players, but these youngsters are very exciting, such as Sek San Ratree, who is sitting here beside me."
"I have faith and confidence in our team. Of course, I don’t want to put pressure on the players. I will try to help them perform at their best on the field."
"As I said, everyone on the team has different talents. So, we will see what each player can do when on the pitch. Right now, everyone is very motivated and impressive. It’s my job to encourage them to be brave and push forward during this game."
Sek San Ratree said, "We are quite well prepared and hope to start the tournament well. We don’t feel pressured because, in the end, it’s decided on the field and by good preparation. Of course, every team has good potential, and we will definitely not underestimate anyone."
