Warning: Here are 4 Thai national team players who may be suspended if the team reaches the ASEAN Cup 2026 semifinals.
On 7 Aug 2026, the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) held a managers' meeting ahead of the 4th group stage match of the 2026 ASEAN Football Championship (ASEAN Cup 2026), Group B, between Thailand, ranked 94th in the world, and Myanmar, ranked 158th.
Representatives from both nations attended this meeting along with competition organizers, security officials, and other relevant parties to finalize match details, including:
- Thailand's players will wear blue kits; the goalkeeper will wear green.
- Myanmar's players will wear white kits; the goalkeeper will wear yellow.
- Teams may make up to 5 substitutions within 3 opportunities, excluding halftime.
- The ASEAN Cup 2026 will implement the FIFA World Cup 2026 rules, covering throw-ins, goal kicks, injury scenarios not caused by contact, substitutions, events during game stoppages, hand-to-mouth gestures, walkouts, expanded referee authority, and the use of VAR technology.
Thailand currently has 4 players with yellow card sanctions: Kakhana Kamyok, Yotakon Burapha, Seksan Ratree, and Theerachak Phaepimai.
If they do not receive additional yellow cards in the match against Myanmar, their accumulated yellow cards will be immediately cleared.
However, if any receive another yellow card and Thailand advances to the semifinals, those players will be suspended for the first semifinal match.
