
The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) has approved the Football Association of Thailand's request to hold a moment of silence for the victims of the incident at Debsirin School Nonthaburi before the Group Stage match between "Thailand" and "Myanmar" in the 2026 ASEAN Cup.
On 8 August 2026, the Football Association of Thailand under royal patronage sent a letter to the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) requesting a one-minute moment of silence before the start of the Group B, Round 4 match between the "War Elephants" Thailand national team and the Myanmar national team today at 20:00 Thailand time in the 2026 ASEAN Football Championship.
This is to express condolences for the tragic losses from the incident at Debsirin School Nonthaburi on 3 August, which resulted in several deaths and injuries.
The "War Elephants," Thailand's national team, currently lead Group B with a perfect 9 points from 3 matches and are the only team in the tournament yet to concede a goal, while Myanmar ranks second with 6 points from 3 matches.
