Jehanafi Mama opens up after scoring his first goal for Thailand in their 2026 ASEAN Cup win over Myanmar.
After Thailand defeated Myanmar 2-0 with goals from Worachit Kanitsribampen’s penalty and Jehanafi Mama, they secured a perfect 12 points from 4 matches, clinching the top spot in Group B and advancing to the 2026 ASEAN Cup semifinals.
After the match, Jehanafi Mama, the Thai national team forward who scored his first goal for the senior team and won Player of the Match, immediately shared his thoughts.
“I'm pleased to have scored my first goal, but there were still many moments where I could have performed better and couldn’t fully show my form.”
“I didn’t feel much pressure during the penalty kick. I was confident and wanted to score because my family was watching. I wanted to make my parents proud by scoring for Thailand,” Jehanafi said.
In the next match, Thailand will compete in the first leg of the 2026 ASEAN Cup semifinals against Singapore, ranked 148th in the world, at Jalan Besar Stadium on 15 August 2026.
