Anthony Hudson, coach of the Thailand national team, opened up after the 0-2 loss to Vietnam in the first leg of the ASEAN Cup final.
On 21 August 2026 GMT+7, Anthony Hudson, Thailand's national team coach, held a press conference after the 0-2 defeat to Vietnam in the first leg of the 2026 ASEAN Cup final at Rajamangala Stadium.
Hudson said, “I am disappointed with the result. We had many chances to score. The MVP of this game was the goalkeeper, which showed many things.”
“Everyone thinks the same way: the game is not over. There is still the second leg ahead, so the chance remains. Regarding the main substitutions, fitness was a factor. Our three attacking players need to be sharper. Everyone must stay focused and remember it’s not finished yet; there’s still a match to play. Many young players gained valuable experience.”
“It’s not just the under-23 players stepping up and feeling proud — I’m proud of everyone. Honestly, I wish the players had more match fitness. I feel love and pride for every one of them.”
The next match for Thailand’s national team is the second leg of the 2026 ASEAN Cup final against Vietnam at My Dinh Stadium on 26 August 2026 GMT+7 at 20:00.
