
Vietnam emerged victorious in the “TEIJIN U-17 New Generation CUP 2026 in Thailand” by defeating Assumption United 4-0, bringing to a close an impressive international youth football competition.
The international under-17 youth football tournament, “TEIJIN U-17 New Generation CUP 2026 in Thailand,” reached its final day at Mahidol University Salaya football field in Nakhon Pathom province, featuring the championship and third-place matches as highlights.
The final match featured Assumption United against PVF Vietnam. Both teams played an exciting and closely contested game, but Vietnam triumphed 4-0 to claim the TEIJIN U-17 New Generation CUP 2026 title.
In the third-place match, defending champions Thakham Chonburi FC defeated Prime FC 9-0 to secure third place in the tournament.
Following the matches, a ceremony was held to present trophies and medals to outstanding teams and players, with honors bestowed by Mr. Masao Kiba, representative of the TEIJIN U-17 New Generation CUP organizers, alongside Mr. Kentaro Oshima, President of Teijin Polyester (Thailand) Limited, and Mr. Hiroki Akazaka, First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Thailand, who congratulated the young footballers.

The championship trophy, Embassy of Japan in Thailand Cup, and gold medals were awarded to PVF Vietnam.
The runner-up, Assumption United, received silver medals.
Thakham Chonburi FC earned bronze medals for finishing third.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) award went to Lee Chuan Hoa, a goalkeeper from Vietnam, who received the MVP trophy. The Top Scorer award was given to Chanathip Tiankhao from Thakham Chonburi FC, who scored five goals and received the Top Scorer trophy.
Mr. Masao Kiba stated that this tournament not only provided a platform for young footballers to showcase their skills and gain international experience but also helped foster friendship and promote cultural exchange through football. He expressed hope that participants would continue to develop and advance to professional levels in the future.
The success of the “TEIJIN U-17 New Generation CUP 2026 in Thailand” reflects collaboration among organizations, sponsors, clubs, and players from various countries, all sharing a common goal to create opportunities and build a sustainable foundation for youth football development in the ASEAN region.
