Clear: "Hudson" reveals 3 goals for the Thailand national team after announcing the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 squad.
On 14 September 2026, Anthony Hudson, head coach of the Thailand national team, spoke after announcing the 23-player squad for the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026, scheduled in Indonesia from 26 September to 5 October 2026.
Anthony Hudson discussed three key points after announcing Thailand's national team squad as follows:
- "I am pleased and excited to work with every player in this squad. As I mentioned before, the three past camps have been different—Asian Cup qualifiers, June FIFA Days, and the ASEAN Cup—all presented different challenges."
"In June, it was four weeks after the league ended, following a long season. For the ASEAN Cup, we tried to select the best players from those available."
"From this camp forward until the Asian Cup 2027 early next year, I hope to have the ability to choose the best players. Certainly, we want the strongest team, aiming to develop and build the team further through to the Asian Cup."
"Injuries and some players not being ready is a normal occurrence. We will try to hold to the best squad to prepare for the Asian Cup."
- "At left back, we don't only have Nicholas Mickelson; we also have Chaipol Adton, who can play both left back and midfield. He performed very well in the ASEAN Cup."
"Actually, he is a youth player who impressed me greatly. Last weekend, I saw Chaipol play left back for Port FC with good form. This adds depth in that position and he can replace others during the FIFA ASEAN Cup."
- "Facing Vietnam again in the FIFA ASEAN Cup, previously in the ASEAN Cup, Vietnam had their best squad and prepared for over two months before the competition. I think in the two final matches against them, I was satisfied with what our players did against Vietnam's top squad. Deep down, I was disappointed with the results, but overall, if we overlook the score, I am proud of every player."
"We still have one more game before facing Vietnam. I believe both I and all the players are excited and eager to meet them again."
"Finally, I want to thank all clubs for sending players to join this team, thank the association for their support, and thank all Thai fans for their encouragement."
The named Thailand national team players will report at Novotel Future Park Rangsit Hotel on 21 September 2026 at 13:00 and then train in the evening at BG Training Center.
