Latest update: Indonesia is the first country to finalize the broadcast rights deal for the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 / What is the situation in Thailand and Vietnam?
The Indonesian media outlet Indosiar Sports announced that every match featuring Indonesia's national team in the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 will be broadcast live via platforms and TV channels including Indosiar, SCTV, Vidio, Moji, and Nex, all managed by Emtek Media Group. The exact amount paid for the broadcast rights has not been disclosed.
In Thailand, there has been no progress on which media outlet will secure the broadcast rights, as the price remains too high.
First offer round – starting price of 3 million USD, approximately 99 million baht.

Regarding Vietnam, as of 14 September, no company or TV station has officially announced acquiring the broadcast rights. The major Vietnamese newspaper Thanh Niên reported that some operators find it difficult to decide on purchasing the rights due to the still unreasonably high price.
Vietnamese media analyze that after Indonesia's Emtek Media Group became the first to secure the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 broadcast rights, there is a possibility FIFA might lower the rights fees further to allow TV stations in various countries across the region to purchase the rights in time and broadcast the matches for fans.
An interesting question remains: who in Thailand will purchase the broadcast rights? And on which platform will the matches be aired?
