Anthony Hudson has called up a new player to replace Jonathan Khemdee, who was injured during training, for the FIFA ASEAN CUP 2026.
On 22 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Anthony Hudson, head coach of the Thailand men's national football team, decided to call up Piyawat Akkatham, a player from Port FC, to replace Jonathan Khemdee, who suffered an injury during training for the FIFA ASEAN CUP 2026 Premier Division in Indonesia.
Jonathan Khemdee was injured during training and underwent an MRI scan to diagnose the injury in detail. The team doctors assessed that the injury was severe and that he would not recover in time for the tournament. The Football Association of Thailand will fully take responsibility for the medical expenses to ensure Khemdee receives proper treatment and rehabilitation.
Consequently, the Thailand national team has called up Piyawat Akkatham from Port FC as a replacement. Piyawat will join the team’s training sessions and travel to Indonesia to participate in the competition.
