Chaiyaphon Adton's reaction after contributing to Thailand's loss to the Philippines in the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026.
Sending support! Thailand's left-back Chaiyaphon Adton struggled to hold back tears after being involved in conceding two goals in the defeat to the Philippines.
Following Thailand's 1-2 loss to the Philippines in Group B of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 on Friday, the "War Elephants" still finished top of the group with 6 points from 3 matches, securing a place in the final.
In that match, versatile player Chaiyaphon Adton from Port FC started at left-back for Thailand and was involved in the conceding of both goals.
The first goal came after a Philippine player dribbled past him down to the byline and crossed for a teammate to score. The second goal was similar, as he was again beaten by a dribbler who then delivered a cross that led to another goal.
After the match, Chaiyaphon was fully aware of his mistakes and could not hold back his tears before Thailand coach Anthony Hudson quickly came over to comfort and encourage him.
