Iklas Sanharan, winger for the Thailand U23 national team, urges his teammates to quickly synchronize with each other for the Asian Football Championship goal.
On 29 December 2025 at 16:30 GMT+7, at the Yamaoka Hanasaka Academy field, the Thailand men's U23 national football team held their first training session to prepare for the final round of the 2026 Asian Football Championship in Saudi Arabia.
This training session involved 22 players, focusing on physical recovery and reviewing the concepts practiced during prior sessions.
Before training, Iklas Sanharan, winger of Thailand U23, said, "I need to learn from both the younger and older players who have joined. We must study each other. I believe the quality of the opponents will be better than before, but the competition should be exciting. We need to quickly adapt to each other. I think we can compete well with other teams because everyone in the Thai team is ready to give their best. Personally, if I get the chance, I will help the team as much as possible."
"My goal, if given the opportunity, is to help the team reach the quarterfinals. I think we need to consider the players because there are many new faces who must learn and adjust to the coach's tactics. This year has exceeded my expectations; it is my first year on the national team, which happened unexpectedly and has continued. This year is the best so far, having been selected for both the Thailand U23 and the senior national teams."
For the 2026 Asian Football Championship U23 final round in Saudi Arabia, held from 7-25 January 2026, Thailand is in Group D alongside Iraq, Australia, and China. The champions and runners-up of all four groups will advance to the quarterfinals.
