Straight Talk: Chada on Whether Uthai Thani Is Ready to Host the 2026 Kings Cup

Straight talk: Chada candidly asks whether Uthai Thani is ready to propose hosting the 2026 King's Cup.

On 20 February 2026, Chada Thai-seth, Member of Parliament for Uthai Thani from the Bhumjaithai Party, gave his latest interview regarding the Football Association of Thailand's announcement inviting bids to host the 52nd King's Cup football tournament scheduled from 9 to 17 November 2026.

The Football Association of Thailand, under royal patronage, plans to hold national team matches in various provinces to stimulate the economy, tourism, and society, following successful FIFA Day matches previously held in Sisaket, Chiang Mai, Songkhla, and Kanchanaburi provinces.

Regarding the possibility of Uthai Thani hosting the 2026 King's Cup, Chada said, "With all due respect, if one day we are ready, we will definitely accept hosting. Currently, the stadium is only equipped for football; other facilities are not yet complete, so we are still considering it."

"I must say that the Ministry of Tourism and Sports needs to separate its roles—separating sports development for people and stadium development. Sports stadiums throughout Thailand must have the same standards."

"Whether a province is developed or not, all should have stadiums of the same quality. Provinces can add or improve facilities as they see fit, but this must be a policy from the Ministry of Sports to build people, build stadiums, and create platforms for children to have opportunities to showcase their skills."
