Narubodin opens up for the first time after a long absence from the Thai national team ahead of the decisive 2027 Asian Cup match against Turkmenistan.
On 23 March 2026 at 12:00 PM, at Novotel Future Park Rangsit Hotel, all 23 male players of the Thai national team gathered to report for duty in preparation for the 6th match of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifying Group D, where they will face Turkmenistan at Rajamangala Stadium on 31 March 2026.
The reporting session was led by Anthony Hudson, head coach of the Thai senior national team, accompanied by the coaching staff and all 23 players present.
Narubodin Weerawatnodom, the right-back from Buriram United, spoke openly after reporting, marking his return to the Thai national team after 3 years and 6 months; his last appearance was at the 2022 King's Cup in September 2022.
“First, I want to thank the coach and all the staff for calling me back to the national team and giving me another chance. I'm very happy to be named again to represent the country. Our goal is clear: we want to win, for all Thai people and to advance to the next round,” Narubodin said.
“I'm glad to be in camp because I have worked hard to perform well. Last year, I had quite a few injuries, but this year Buriram’s squad is larger, allowing rotation. Everyone has shown good form. My physical condition is at 100% now.”
“I think all the players are familiar with each other since we meet in the league regularly. Given our style of play and long experience together, I believe we won't need much adjustment.”
“As I said, Buriram has a bigger squad this year, so players can help each other on the pitch. This reduces injuries and allows more time for rest and recovery, enabling us to focus better on each game.”
The 6th matchday of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifying Group D will see Thailand face Turkmenistan at Rajamangala Stadium on 31 March 2026 at 7:30 PM.
The match will be broadcast live on Thairath TV Channel 32.
