On 31 March 2026, Madame Pang Nualphan Lamsam, President of the Football Association of Thailand, gave an exclusive interview to Thairath TV and Thairath Sport after the Thai national team successfully qualified for the final tournament of the 2027 Asian Cup.
The Thai national team narrowly defeated Turkmenistan 2-1, bringing their total to 15 points and securing first place in Group D in the third round of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. They are now one of 24 teams advancing to the 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia.
