Latest FIFA ranking for Thailand's national team soars after beating Turkmenistan, qualifying for Asian Cup 2027.
On 31 March 2026, the latest FIFA ranking for Thailand's national team was released following the final match of the third round of Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers. Thailand hosted and narrowly defeated Turkmenistan 2-1 in a gripping encounter.
Thailand secured the winning goal late in the match, in the 89th minute, scored by Manuel Tom Bihr. This allowed the "War Elephants" to overtake Turkmenistan, who had 12 points, and claim first place in Group D with 15 points, booking their place in the 2027 Asian Cup finals in Saudi Arabia, much to the delight of football fans across Thailand.
