Thailand U20 Womens National Team Come From Behind to Beat Bangladesh in Opener of 2026 AFC U20 Womens Asian Cup

Thailand's U20 women's football team was outstanding!!! After falling behind by two goals, they ultimately came from behind to defeat Bangladesh and start the 2026 Asian Championship with three points.

On 1 April 2026 at Thammasat Stadium, the AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup Thailand 2026 group stage match in Group A kicked off with the Thailand U20 women's national team facing the Bangladesh U20 team.

In this match, coach Nueng (Nualrithai Sarathongvean) deployed Kaden Eliananlam Chaowanphan to create attacking plays supporting the front trio of Rosita Taobao, Patcharaporn Kucheua, and Kulisara Limpawanich as the main strikers.

In the first half, at the 35th minute, Bangladesh scored first to lead 1-0 when Mos Sagorika broke free and shot inside the penalty box, beating Atima Boonprakan, and the half ended with this score.

Early in the second half at the 50th minute, Bangladesh extended their lead to 2-0 as Mos Sagorika again broke through the defense and scored with a right-footed shot past Atima Boonprakan, marking her second goal of the game.

At the 69th minute, Thailand scored to make it 1-2 from a penalty awarded after Natcha Kaewanta was fouled by a Bangladesh defender in the box. Kulisara Limpawanich successfully converted the penalty, sending the ball into the corner of the net.

At the 75th minute, Thailand equalized at 2-2 from another penalty after Pitchathida Manowang was fouled in the penalty area. Rinyaphat Mooldong took the penalty and scored with a shot into the top right corner.

Then at the 79th minute, Thailand took the lead 3-2 when Madison Jat Kastein threaded a through ball to Pitchathida Manowang, who broke into the box and scored with a left-footed shot.

No further goals were scored in the remaining time. The Thailand U20 women's team completed a comeback to win 3-2 over Bangladesh U20, earning three points in their opening match of the 2026 Asian Championship. In another Group A match, China defeated Vietnam 3-0.

Thailand U20's next match in the AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup Thailand 2026 Group A stage will be against Vietnam U20 at Thammasat Stadium on 4 April 2026 at 20:00.
