On 5 Apr 2026, Madame Pang (Nualphan Lamsam), president of the Football Association of Thailand, has been following and encouraging all Thai national teams. She phoned the Thai U20 women's team since their opening match comeback win over Bangladesh 3-2, and again after their recent 4-1 victory over Vietnam, awarding them a 500,000 baht bonus after they secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Asian Championship hosted by Thailand.
The Thai U20 women's team has officially secured progression alongside China before their final group stage meeting on 7 April. If the Thai players win that match, they will advance as group champions immediately, but a draw or loss will still see them advance as group runners-up.
The 2026 AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup final tournament, hosted by Thailand, will qualify four Asian teams—the semifinalists—for the 2026 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup scheduled in Poland in September 2026.
