On 15 April 2026, during the vibrant Songkran festival, "Jay" Chanathip Songkrasin, a Thai national football player, was mistaken for a boxer by a woman while out celebrating Songkran water festivities. The video was posted on TikTok by user beamnaris.
Thairath Sport contacted the video owner, who said, "I didn't know Chanathip personally. A friend told me he was a boxer, so I recorded the video to show my boyfriend that I met a celebrity. Then my boyfriend told me to post the video quickly."
In the clip, the woman says, "Hello, everyone. He is here next to the boxer named Jay Chanathip."
To which Jay replied, "kluay nam wa" (a variety of banana).
