The Thailand U17 national team came from behind to draw with Myanmar U17 in the final Group A match of the AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2026, resulting in Thailand not securing any victories in this tournament.
On 13 May 2026 at 00:00 Thai time, at King Abdullah Sports City Hall Stadium (Legends) in Saudi Arabia, the AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2026 Group A third match featured the Thailand U17 team facing Myanmar U17.
Both Thailand and Myanmar had lost their previous two matches against Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia. In this match, head coach Marco Gockel rotated the lineup, starting Pitchaya Chaiwarangkul alongside Boonyakorn Phajongsil and Pakorn Sutthiprapa, with Phonphitak Rungrueng as the playmaker.
In the 19th minute, Myanmar took the lead 1-0 when Sai Myat Min dribbled into the penalty area and scored a left-footed shot into the far post.
Then in the 22nd minute, Myanmar extended their lead to 2-0 as Myat Min Thu passed to Sai Myat Min, who volleyed a left-footed shot into the goal, marking his second goal of the match.

In the second half, at the 60th minute, Thailand had a chance to equalize when Boonyakorn Phajongsil entered the penalty area and shot with his right foot, but the Myanmar goalkeeper saved and deflected the ball out for a corner.
Then at the 75th minute, Thailand equalized 2-2. Phonphitak Rungrueng provided a pass to substitute David Gabert, who shot with his right foot inside the penalty area, scoring into the corner.
No further goals were scored in the remaining time. The match ended in a 2-2 draw between the Thailand U17 and Myanmar U17 teams, concluding their AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2026 campaign.
