Where to Next? Grimsby Parts Ways with Thai National Team Forward Jude Bellingham Among Five Released Players
On 19 May 2026 GMT+7, Grimsby Town, a prominent English League Two club, officially announced their separation from Jude Suntrap Bellingham, the English-Thai national team forward, after finishing 7th and qualifying for the League One promotion playoffs but being eliminated in the semifinals.
Recently, Grimsby Town revealed their list of players to retain and release. Jude Bellingham was among five players released, alongside George McEcrane, Jason Daddy Swanthorsson, Tyrell Warren, and Zack Gilsenan, despite Bellingham having an option to extend his contract for another year.
This means Jude Suntrap Bellingham is preparing to find a new club. It remains to be seen whether he will continue playing in Europe or move to Asia, after having played with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League, as well as Cordoba and Sanluqueño in Spain.
Jude Bellingham is included in Thailand’s 23-man squad for the FIFA Day friendlies in June: a home match against Kuwait on 5 June and an away match against China on 9 June, under the management of English head coach Anthony Hudson.
