"Coach Bo" Jakrapan Panpi shared his thoughts after Thailand's national team crushed Cambodia to advance to the final in the 2026 ASEAN U-19 Football Championship.
On 11 June 2026, "Coach Bo" Jakrapan Panpi spoke out following the "War Elephants" Thailand national team's 4-0 victory over Cambodia in the semi-finals of the ASEAN U-19 Boys' Championship 2026 at Sumatra Utara Main Stadium, Indonesia.
"We have to commend Cambodia for preparing well, making it tough for our players early on. But once we scored the first goal, everyone seemed to relax and played more as a team. Tomorrow, our main focus will be recovery because we have no time left to train. Everyone gave their all, so we must concentrate on maintaining fitness," said Coach Bo.
"Both Indonesia and Australia are strong teams with distinct playing styles. We have studied how they play. Indonesia is tough at home, backed by their fans. The key to reaching the final was our players’ game understanding, which was quite good though there are still areas to improve. I admire their spirit; despite limited preparation time, we were ready. Each game built confidence and match fitness," he added.
Meanwhile, Itthimon Tipnet, Man of the Match for Thailand U19 in the semi-final, said, "We were 100% confident because we prepared well and were ready all along."
Thailand U-19 will next face the winner between Indonesia and Australia in the final of the ASEAN U-19 Championship Group B at Sumatra Utara Main Stadium on 13 June 2026 at 20:15 GMT+7.
