"Coach Bo," Jakkapan Panpi, head coach of Thailand’s U19 national football team, stated he is proud of every player despite the 0-2 defeat to Australia in the ASEAN U19 Football Championship final, finishing the tournament as runners-up.
Jakkapan said, "First of all, I am proud of the youngsters for leading the team to the final. Today, we must commend Australia—they are a strong team with quality players. I am satisfied with the boys because we gave our all, even though preparation time was short, they performed well," Coach Bo said.
"The players might have felt some pressure, but we tried to help them manage it so they wouldn't overwhelm themselves. We knew our goal coming into this tournament," he added.
The Thailand U19 team will return immediately, arriving at Suvarnabhumi International Airport on 14 June 2026 at 23:05. Afterward, the coaching staff will report to the Football Association of Thailand and hold meetings to plan for the next tournament, the AFC U20 Asian Championship qualifiers, scheduled in Chonburi province from 31 August to 6 September 2026.
