On 24 July 2026, the world rankings of 11 ASEAN nations ahead of the "2026 ASEAN Football Championship" or ASEAN Championship 2026, according to the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), were reviewed. Thailand's national team, known as the "War Elephants," continues to hold the number one spot in ASEAN, ranking 94th in the world. Vietnam is ranked second in the region at 99th globally, followed by Indonesia in third place. Here are the latest world rankings of the 11 ASEAN nations.
Thailand national team (ranked 94th): 1,250.80 points
Vietnam national team (ranked 99th): 1,227.20 points
Indonesia national team (ranked 118th): 1,157.14 points
Philippines national team (ranked 135th): 1,100.95 points
Malaysia national team (ranked 136th): 1,086.22 points
Singapore national team (ranked 148th): 1,057.95 points
Myanmar national team (ranked 158th): 1,009.39 points
Cambodia national team (ranked 175th): 922.32 points
Laos national team (ranked 185th): 885.03 points
Brunei national team (ranked 194th): 857.73 points
Timor-Leste national team (ranked 201st): 831.00 points
Notably, Brunei's national team was eliminated in the qualifiers and did not participate in the group stage of the final 2026 ASEAN Football Championship. They lost to Timor-Leste with a 6-1 aggregate score in the playoff round last June.
