Latest FIFA ranking of the Thailand national team after their win over Malaysia in the second match of ASEAN Cup 2026 brings good news.
On 1 August 2026, the latest FIFA ranking of the Thailand national team was released following their group stage match 2 in the ASEAN Football Championship 2026 (ASEAN Cup 2026) Group B at Rajamangala Stadium, where they hosted the Malaysia national team.
The result was a 2-0 victory for Thailand, with Yossakorn Burapha scoring a penalty in the 38th minute and Teerasak Pheypimai netting another goal in the 56th minute. This win moved Thailand back to the top of Group B with 6 points, tied with Malaysia but leading on goal difference (Thailand +7, Malaysia +3).
This victory also boosted Thailand's FIFA world ranking, increasing their points by 1.74 from 1,251.79 to a total of 1,253.53.
As a result, Thailand now surpasses Benin, who currently has 1,252.17 points and no scheduled matches, unofficially moving up to 93rd place globally.
