Wariss Chuthong and Natthapong Sairiya reveal their readiness before leading the Thailand national team to face Myanmar in the final Group B match of the 2026 ASEAN Cup group stage.
On 6 Aug 2026, Wariss Chuthong and Natthapong Sairiya spoke about their readiness ahead of leading the "War Elephants," Thailand's national team, to face Myanmar in the final Group B match of the 2026 ASEAN Cup group stage on Saturday, 8 Aug 2026, at Rajamangala National Stadium, kicking off at 20:00 Thailand time (GMT+7).
Before training, Wariss Chuthong, Thailand's right back, said, "The game against the Philippines was tough and tense. I'm glad we scored in that match and took home three points. Our senior players gave advice and supported us throughout. The difference from the Thailand U-23 team is that we have seniors supporting us, while with U-23, we support each other as peers. Our goal against Myanmar is to secure three points and advance. From the three matches I've seen from Myanmar, they are also strong, so we can't underestimate them. If we get scoring chances, I'll try to convert them. I invite Thai fans to come and cheer for us a lot."
Meanwhile, Natthapong Sairiya, Thailand defender, said, "After this, the coach has instructed everyone to recover as quickly as possible because the last three games were intense and the travel was quite tiring. Keeping clean sheets in all three matches was thanks to everyone’s teamwork and hard work in training."
"I believe everyone in the team can replace each other and all have quality, able to play well together. Playing against Myanmar at our home stadium, we want to invite all fans to come and support us at the stadium. We will do our best. They are a strong team, and we will give our all and not be complacent."
