A representative of a Vietnamese television channel stated that FIFA is currently evaluating the broadcast rights price for the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 at about 100 million baht, which is significantly higher than the prestige of the participating nations.
Reports indicate the broadcast rights for the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 in Thailand and Vietnam have been priced at 3 million USD (98 million baht), resulting in no company or media outlet finalizing a broadcast deal so far.
Tuổi Trẻ, a major media outlet in Vietnam, inquired about this with a representative from a television agency. The representative did not deny the price reported by Thai media and confirmed that
"The broadcast rights price for the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 is very high. The production costs of this tournament are also substantial. Every category involves significant expenses."
According to Tuổi Trẻ's sources, several Vietnamese TV stations are currently contacting FIFA to purchase the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 rights, but all negotiations are still ongoing.
Another TV station representative told Tuổi Trẻ on the evening of 10 August that if the 3 million USD figure is accurate, it means FIFA is valuing the influence of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 far above the prestige of the participating national teams.
The FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 is scheduled from 24 September to 3 October 2026, with Thailand placed in Group B.
