On 19 August 2026, B Bangpakong, a well-known Thai football columnist, revealed the latest developments on his Facebook page, B Bangpakong - Bebangpakong, that Madam Pang Nualphan Lamsam, President of the Football Association of Thailand, is seeking negotiations to have the 2026 ASEAN Cup final broadcast live on free TV.
B Bangpakong stated, "Madam Pang coordinated with Muang Thai Insurance to purchase advertising with True to broadcast the ASEAN Cup final live on #freeTV."
Madam Pang is aware of the quiet atmosphere among football fans throughout the three matches Thailand has played in the 2026 ASEAN Cup at Rajamangala Stadium, partly because there has been no free TV broadcast, which has limited widespread awareness and engagement.
