The Vietnam national team extended their impressive record by defeating the Thailand national team 2-0 away in the first leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final.
On 23 August 2026, the 'Golden Star Warriors' of Vietnam, led by South Korean coach Kim Sang-sik, extended their impressive streak by beating the 'War Elephants' of Thailand, coached by Englishman Anthony Hudson, 2-0 at the Rajamangala National Stadium last night in the first leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final.
After the match, the Vietnam team extended their unbeaten streak to 25 games. Their last defeat was on 10 September 2024 in a friendly match where they lost at home to Thailand 1-2. Since then, they have won 22 matches and drawn only 3.
