Yosakorn Burapha and Oussama Tiangkam reveal Thailand national team’s key strategy as they hope for a dramatic comeback to defeat Vietnam and win the ASEAN Cup 2026.
On 23 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Yosakorn Burapha and Oussama Tiangkam shared the War Elephants’ plan to overturn their first-leg 0-2 home loss at Rajamangala Stadium against the Golden Star Warriors, Vietnam, in the ASEAN Cup 2026 final.
Thailand striker Yosakorn Burapha said, “I feel regretful. We had many chances, including myself, but we couldn’t convert them into goals. I believe if we had scored then, we would have dominated the game. Scoring in the first half would have made it easier for us to play. But that’s behind us now; we must focus on the next match.”
“I think we must prepare our team, and it shouldn’t be too difficult if we unite and fight together. I hope we can make history in Vietnam. I want Thai fans to come and support us fully. We will do our best to win the championship. There’s still a chance, so don’t lose hope. The players haven’t given up; we will give our all to secure victory.”
Meanwhile, Thailand left-back Oussama Tiangkam said, “Personally, I’m disappointed with the result, but all players tried to perform well. It’s unfortunate we couldn’t seize the opportunities or finish chances, while Vietnam was able to convert theirs.”
“But it’s not over; there’s still the second leg to play. We will do our best and prepare to fight for a better result. We are focusing on correcting mistakes from the previous game. Certainly, playing away in Vietnam is tough, but nothing is impossible, and we will give our all.”
