Yossakorn Burapha: Feelings After Thailand's National Team Misses ASEAN Cup 2026 Title
"Yossakorn" expresses regret as the "Thailand national team" narrowly misses the ASEAN Cup 2026 title, vowing to return stronger to claim the championship next time.
Following the "War Elephants" Thailand national team’s 2-2 draw away to the "Golden Star" Vietnam national team in the second leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final, Thailand lost 2-4 on aggregate, securing only the runner-up position.
After the match, Yossakorn Burapha, Thailand’s national team forward and the tournament's Best Young Player with 3 goals in 7 appearances, shared his feelings as follows.
"I feel regretful. We had chances to take the lead and to come back, but we couldn’t. Everyone did their best and we’re all disappointed. When we were ahead, I believed in the team’s ability to recover, but it didn’t happen. It’s okay. Everyone gave their all. We will continue to develop ourselves."
"I don’t dwell on Vietnam winning the championship. We will go back to improve. Congratulations to them, but next time we will come back stronger and win the title."
From now, the Thailand national team will return immediately, arriving at Don Mueang Airport on 27 August 2026 at approximately 14:10 GMT+7. There will be a review of the performance and preparation plans for upcoming matches in the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 in Indonesia during the September FIFA window.
