No other goal: Chanathip announces Thailand national team's aim ahead of FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026.
On 21 September 2026, the Thailand men's national football team arrived to register at Novotel Future Park Rangsit Hotel to prepare for the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 Premier Division tournament in Indonesia, scheduled from 26 September to 5 October 2026.
The registration was led by Anthony Hudson, head coach of the Thailand national team, with a total of 21 players reporting in. Nicholas Mickelson and Anan Yodsangwal will join the team later.
Chanathip Songkrasin, captain of the Thailand national team, said, “Myself and all the coaching staff are fully prepared. This is our first time in this tournament, and it is challenging to face other national teams. Each country has selected their best squad to compete.”
“We want to win the championship. We will do everything possible, dedicate ourselves, and bring victory back. I believe everyone shares the same goal. Our fans have high expectations of us.”
“Vietnam is already a strong team. We hope to beat them to boost confidence for both the national team and Thai fans, so we have something to challenge them with.”
“I believe this tournament may pose difficulties regarding food, diet, and the stadium. We have overseas experience; other teams are also new. Only Indonesia has a fan base, so there may be few supporters traveling to cheer.”
“We believe we will give our best to secure victory for our country. We must focus on every team and on ourselves to be as prepared as possible. Each team plays differently, so we need to analyze their strengths and weaknesses as well as our own.”
