Can Hudson clarify fans' concerns after announcing the Thailand national team for the King's Cup 2026?","tags":["football","Thailand national team","King's Cup 2026","Anthony Hudson"]},{
On 3 November 2026, Anthony Hudson, head coach of the Thailand national team, gave an interview following the announcement of the 23-man squad for the 52nd King's Cup tournament to be held in Sisaket Province from 12-17 November 2026.
Hudson said, "We are very excited to go to Sisaket because it is very important for us as a national team to travel and compete across the country. Also, I've heard many great stories about the fans there, and I know all the players are eager to play in front of those fans."
"So, we are really excited to be there. I am very satisfied with the squad. There has been a lot of talk, and I mentioned last night that there are many challenges regarding the schedule and other issues, which are normal in this work. But for me, there are no excuses."
"I think the players we have selected make me very satisfied. I'm excited to work with this group, and I truly believe these players will make us proud in this competition."
"Regarding criticism, I think every squad selection camp always leads to opinions from fans about player choices. We have discussed a lot in every camp, whether it was the ASEAN Cup, the June camp, or this camp. Nothing comes straightforward or easily."
"This is the context and situation we face. I think it’s always difficult to select a perfect squad. We just have to adjust according to the situation. This camp is no different."
"If it were up to me personally, I would want everything for the national team. But we are part of the bigger picture in Thai football, where clubs face many challenges, especially with scheduling."
"Looking at the ASEAN Club Championship, the calendar there, plus the AFC Champions League schedule, we want the domestic clubs to do well in those tournaments because it benefits Thai football."
"Therefore, there must be balance and collaboration with the clubs. But from the squad we have now, personally, I am relaxed and very satisfied with this team."
