What happened? "Hudson" reveals names of Thai national team players joining the 2026 King's Cup final and explains the reasons.
On 3 November 2026, Anthony Hudson, head coach of the Thai national team, spoke after announcing the 23-man squad for the 52nd King's Cup football tournament to be held in Sisaket province from 12 to 17 November 2026.
Hudson spoke about Suphanat Mueanta, the key forward from Omiya Ardija, a J1 League club in Japan, returning to the Thai national team after 1 year and 8 months, saying, "I sincerely thank the Football Association. This was not an easy matter at all."
"Whether it was for the ASEAN Cup or this current tournament, I have seen continuous effort and work, including discussions with various clubs to help us assemble the best possible squad."
"I want to thank Madam Pang for her help over the past few weeks, just like during the ASEAN Cup period, and also for my talks with the clubs. Some clubs performed excellently and gave full support."
"I also want to especially thank the clubs of Supachok Sarachat and Suphanat Mueanta. Their clubs have been very good to us."
"As we all know, Bank (Suphanat Mueanta) has gone through a difficult period over the past two years due to injury. We have missed him, and I believe the fans have missed him as well."
"We are excited that the club has allowed him to join the team, and we will closely monitor his fitness and return to play because of his injury. He will join us for the final match."
"Finally, I want to thank his club very much for their excellent cooperation with us."
"Regarding Theeraphat Prueathong and Supachok Sarachat, they will join the camp from the first day of the FIFA window. The only player arriving late is by agreement with Omiya Ardija, which is Suphanat Mueanta."
"As I said before, I want to thank his club very much. They have been transparent and sincere with me about his injury situation and rehabilitation schedule for his return to play."
"In fact, for an injury like this, playing immediately and then rushing to fly straight to Sisaket may not be the best preparation for such an injury, especially when it is a recurring injury."
"So what we will do is monitor and follow his condition from now until then, but he will definitely join us for the final match."
"He is a player I know fans want to see back representing the national team and wearing this jersey again. We want him with us, and I can't wait to work with him, but that’s the only difference among players arriving at the camp at different times."
