Chaiyachon Denies Rumors of Pushing Klattham to Opposition, Questions Nevins Role

Chaiyachon denies rumors of pushing Klattham to the opposition and questions Nevin's involvement amid rumors of a meeting with Thammanat.

On 16 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Chaiyachon Chidchob, secretary-general of the Bhumjaithai Party, denied rumors about pushing the Klattham Party to the opposition. He questioned Nevin's involvement following reports of a planned discussion with Thammanat. He confirmed that Bhumjaithai has not invited anyone to join the government but remains open to talks and expressions of intent from all parties.

Chaiyachon addressed rumors that the Klattham Party would not be invited to join the government, stating that they have expressed from the start their intention to talk to every party in order. Participation depends on which parties express willingness to work with Bhumjaithai. Everything remains unchanged, but so far, there has been no coordination from the Klattham Party.

Regarding rumors that Nevin Chidchob, chairman of Buriram United Football Club and the Bhumjaithai Party's patron, issued an ultimatum for the Klattham Party to return the Ministry of Agriculture quota, threatening that if they refuse, Klattham would be pushed to the opposition immediately, and that efforts would be made to invite Abhisit Vejjajiva of the Democrat Party to join the government instead.

Chaiyachon responded by asking, "What does Nevin have to do with this?" He noted that Anutin has already announced talks with all parties and that they must wait for official confirmation of election results from the Election Commission. This follows their prior statement that the Pheu Thai Party and smaller parties have expressed their intent to join.
