However, during this match, Marlon Silva, Pattani's defender, scored a goal using his hand. The referee did not see the handball and allowed the goal, but Marlon himself informed the referee to cancel it, which resulted in him receiving a yellow card.
Marlon said, “The ball dropped and I intended to use my head to score, but I ended up using my hand. I waited to see if the linesman would call a foul, but he didn’t. So I spoke to the referee and the Buriram players. I didn’t want to score like that; it’s about football spirit. Also, as a Christian, I couldn’t do that. I apologize to Buriram fans and Pattani fans. I’ve said what I needed to, and that’s that.”
