Chanathip declares the mission is not over! He calls the final the ultimate answer and hopes to lead BG Pathum United to defeat Port FC and claim the Muang Thai Cup 2025-26 title.
On 8 April 2026 GMT+7, “Jay” Chanathip Songkrasin, the playmaker of “The Rabbits,” spoke after BG Pathum United defeated defending champions Buriram United 1-0 to advance to the Muang Thai Cup 2025-26 final. He emphasized that the sole goal is to win the championship to secure a spot in the Asian Champions League.
“Our mission isn’t over. The championship is the answer to everything. At the very least, this year we must bring home a trophy.”
He admitted that the Asian football quota is a major motivation: “We want to qualify for the ACL. Although the path this season may be tougher, we must focus on the final where we have to win, as well as the remaining league games, including the match against Port FC.”
When asked about facing Port FC in the final, Chanathip gave a brief but confident reply: “It will definitely be an exciting game.”
