This followed a 0-3 away defeat to Sukhothai FC, the "Fire Bats," at Thalay Luang Stadium. This marks their first relegation since their promotion in 2009.

"We deeply regret to announce that Muangthong United has officially been relegated to Thai League 2, ending a beautiful 17-year era in Thai League 1 and nearly 19 years since the club's inception. This season has been challenging for us, with team readiness and changes occurring throughout the season. Everyone involved at the club has fought hard in every match, but ultimately, we were unable to achieve our goal in the final game of the season."
