Immediate response from "Newin" after Buriram edges closer to a second consecutive Shopee Cup title with an away win over Selangor.
On 20 May 2026, the "Uncle Newin" Facebook page shared the latest remarks from Newin Chidchob, president of Buriram United, following the first leg of the 2025-26 ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup final.
Buriram United, Thai League 1 champions coached by Englishman Mark Jackson, narrowly defeated Malaysia's top club Selangor 1-0 on their home ground, with Suphanat Muenta scoring the winning goal in the 24th minute.
This gave the "Thunder Castle" the advantage heading into the chance to defend their title for a second consecutive year at their home ground, Buriram Stadium (Chang Arena), on Wednesday, 27 May.
Recently, Newin Chidchob commented on Buriram United's victory over Selangor FC: "Thank you to everyone for the support. We fought together to victory.
