Coach Heng speaks frankly after Chonburi FC’s fifth consecutive Thai League loss to PT Prachuap.
“Coach Heng” is confident that “Chonburi” will not be relegated from the Thai League despite five straight losses and being at the bottom of the table.
Witthaya Laohakul, Technical Development Chairman of Chonburi FC and acting head coach, stated he believes Chonburi FC will not be relegated, even after their recent 1-2 home defeat to PT Prachuap FC, marking five losses in a row and last place in the 2026-27 Thai League season.
Coach Heng said, “We have only trained for three days. The biggest change is creating more chances, but football requires decisiveness. That is what we need to improve.”
“This is not about bad luck but about focus, consistency in the game, and a lack of good communication on the field. We have time to make improvements from now on.”
“In the next league match against Ratchaburi, we must play our own game first. Player cooperation is crucial during training.”
“Regarding the new head coach, I personally am not considering a long-term acting role. The club is likely to look for a foreign coach, depending on the candidates—whether from Japan, Germany, or Brazil—seeking someone who can inspire enthusiasm and develop the players’ mental state.”
When asked about relegation, Coach Heng responded, “Personally, I believe Chonburi will not be relegated given the potential of our current players.”
Next, Chonburi FC will host BFB Pattaya in the Chang FA Cup Round of 64 on 20 Oct 2026 at 18:00 GMT+7.
