Spain anxiously awaits as Barcelona reveals the latest injury update on Jamal, threatening his chances for the 2026 World Cup.
On 23 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Barcelona, the La Liga leader, released an update on the condition of Lamine Jamal, the Spanish national team winger, after he was injured in their recent 1-0 home win over Celta Vigo last night.
Eighteen-year-old Lamine Jamal suffered a left hamstring muscle injury after scoring the winning penalty for Barcelona in the 40th minute, then collapsed in pain and was immediately substituted for Roni Bardjie.
Barcelona later announced on their official website, "Thursday's examination confirmed that Lamine Jamal, a first-team player, sustained a left hamstring muscle injury. He will undergo treatment as planned."
"He will miss the remainder of the season but is expected to be ready to play in the 2026 World Cup."
This means Lamine Jamal will be sidelined for about one month before regaining fitness in time to be selected for Spain's squad for the World Cup running from 11 June to 19 July 2026.
