On 5 May 2026 GMT+7, following the Cabinet meeting, reporters waited to interview the Prime Minister about the live broadcast of the 2026 World Cup. He asked the media, "Which year is it?" before the reporters replied, "This year, in June."
He also revealed, "We have to make it happen, of course. Every government has allowed Thai people to watch the World Cup. Why would my government be an exception?"
Regarding the 2026 World Cup, the Prime Minister confirmed that every government has managed to do this, and his government will not be an exception. As for the details on how the broadcast will be arranged, he said that will be addressed later.
