Second Team Announced: Swedens 26-Man Squad for 2026 World Cup Features Many Premier League Players

The second team to announce its 26-player roster for the 2026 World Cup is here, featuring many Premier League players.

On 13 May 2026, the Sweden national team, coached by Graham Potter, former Brighton and Chelsea manager, revealed its final 26-player squad for the 2026 World Cup finals, hosted jointly by the United States, Mexico, and Canada from 11 June to 19 July.

Sweden is the second of 48 nations qualified for the 2026 World Cup finals to announce its final 26-player roster, following Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by veteran striker Edin Džeko, 40, a former Manchester City player.

Sweden’s squad includes eight players currently active in England's Premier League, led by top scorers Alexander Isak (Liverpool) and Victor Jörgensen (Arsenal).

The other six Premier League players are Anthony Elanga (Newcastle United), Lukas Bergvall (Tottenham Hotspur), Yasin Ayari (Brighton), Victor Lindelöf (Aston Villa), Gabriel Gudmundsson (Leeds United), and Jalmari Ekdal (Burnley).

Among those playing for major European clubs are Isak Hein (Atalanta), Emil Holm (Juventus), Daniel Svensson (Dortmund), Jesper Karlström (Udinese), Mattias Svanberg (Wolfsburg), and Benjamin Nygren (Celtic).

This will be Sweden’s 13th appearance in the World Cup finals, with their best achievement as runners-up in the 1958 tournament they hosted, losing 2-5 to Brazil’s Pele-led team in the final.

Sweden’s 2026 World Cup Group F schedule:

14 June 2026: Sweden vs Tunisia

20 June 2026: Netherlands vs Sweden

25 June 2026: Japan vs Sweden
