Eleven star players were omitted from England's 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup, which includes four surprising selections.

On 22 May 2026, Thomas Tuchel announced England's final 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup, to be hosted jointly by the United States, Mexico, and Canada from 11 June to 19 July.

The core of the "Three Lions" squad is led by Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice, Jordan Pickford, Bukayo Saka, and Reece James. The most surprising inclusions were Jarell Quansah, Ivan Toney, John Stones, and Jed Spence.

Meanwhile, 11 big-name players omitted from England's 2026 World Cup squad include Trent Alexander-Arnold (Real Madrid), Harry Maguire (Manchester United), Phil Foden (Manchester City), and Cole Palmer (Chelsea).
