Lucky Star Manchester United Player Unexpectedly Makes Brazils 2026 World Cup Squad Despite Earlier Omission

Lucky star "Manchester United star" unexpectedly secures a place in the 2026 World Cup despite previously being left out.

On 8 June 2026, Ederson, the prospective new Manchester United player from the English Premier League, has become the luckiest player currently, as his football career is flourishing during the past two weeks.

Last week, Manchester United completed the signing of Ederson, a Brazilian midfielder, from Atalanta of Italy's Serie A for £35 million plus a £4 million bonus. This marks their first summer signing, with only the medical check and official unveiling remaining.

Recently, Ederson received good news after Brazil national team coach Carlo Ancelotti decided to call him up for the 2026 World Cup squad due to Roma's right back Wesley suffering a left thigh muscle injury during a 2-1 friendly win over Egypt last Saturday.

As a result, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) removed Wesley from Brazil's 2026 World Cup squad and gave Ederson, who had not made the initial 26-man final cut, a chance to join the team instead.

FIFA required all 48 nations to submit their final 26-player squads by 1 June but allows changes in case of injury, serious illness, or emergency up to 24 hours before the team's first World Cup match in 2026.
