Reports indicated a shooting occurred near the England team's training camp. Police were alerted to an incident on Troost Avenue in Kansas City at about 4 a.m. local time on Saturday, 6 June.
Police quickly dispatched officers to the scene. The Kansas City Police Department confirmed they responded after hearing gunshots and found a large crowd dispersing upon arrival.
Once the situation calmed, authorities assessed those affected and reported nine adults injured, all transported to various local hospitals. Fortunately, none suffered life-threatening injuries.
No suspects have been arrested yet. Police continue intensive patrols in the area while the shooting investigation proceeds.
Troost Avenue, where the shooting took place, is only four miles (about 6.44 kilometers) from the England team's training camp and hotel, where they will stay during the early stages of the 2026 World Cup.
