Only Thailand Missing: Summary of 10 ASEAN Countries That Bought 2026 World Cup Broadcast Rights

Only Thailand is missing: Summary of 10 ASEAN countries that have purchased broadcasting rights for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

On 9 June 2026, the latest list was released of ASEAN countries that have purchased broadcasting rights for the final round of the 2026 World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, taking place from 11 June to 19 July.

According to the latest information from FIFA, 10 out of 11 ASEAN countries have already acquired the official broadcasting rights for the final round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The official rights holders are as follows.

The 10 ASEAN countries (latest) broadcasting the 2026 FIFA World Cup final round.

1. Cambodia: HANG MEAS VIDEO

2. Indonesia: TVRI Indonesia

3. Philippines: Aleph Group

4. Singapore: Mediacorp

5. Timor-Leste: ETO - TELCO

6. Vietnam: VTV - Vietnam Television

7. Malaysia: Total Sports

8. Laos (Lao PDR): Unitel Laos

9. Brunei: Radio Television Brunei

10. Myanmar: Mytel

This leaves Thailand as the only ASEAN country that has not yet purchased broadcasting rights for the 2026 FIFA World Cup final round, which will begin on Thursday, 11 June.

The three countries that have only recently acquired the 2026 World Cup broadcasting rights are Laos, Brunei, and Myanmar.

FIFA aims to sell broadcasting rights to interested countries under the condition that they provide comprehensive live coverage of the 2026 World Cup, which is expanding from 32 to 48 teams and will feature 104 matches throughout the tournament.

However, the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has removed the World Cup finals from the Must-Have list, meaning Thai viewers may not be able to watch the 2026 World Cup live on free-to-air television.
