Brazil National Team Draws with Morocco in Opening Match of 2026 World Cup Group C

Brazil's national team had a tough start, sweating to secure a draw against Morocco in the opening match of the 2026 World Cup Group C.

The 2026 World Cup Group C first round match took place at MetLife Stadium, USA, featuring a showdown between Brazil's "Samba" team and the determined Morocco national team.

In the 20th minute of the first half, Morocco took the lead 1-0 when Brahim Diaz threaded a through ball to Ismael Saibari, who chipped it over Brazil's goalkeeper Alisson Becker to score.

Then in the 32nd minute, Brazil equalized at 1-1 as Bruno Guimarães passed left to Vinícius Júnior, who cut inside and struck a precise right-footed shot that curled into the far post, with the half ending at this score.

In the second half, neither team could add to the score, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Brazil will face Haiti next, while Morocco will play Scotland on 19 June.
