Ancelotti Speaks Frankly After Brazil Draws with Morocco in 2026 World Cup Opener

Carlo Ancelotti, head coach of the Brazil national team, spoke openly after a draw against Morocco in the opening match of the 2026 World Cup.

Carlo Ancelotti, Brazil's head coach, admitted that the team deserved to draw 1-1 with Morocco in their first Group C match of the 2026 World Cup earlier this morning. He acknowledged that the opponent played very well, making it a tough challenge for his team.

In the match, Ismail Saibari scored to give Morocco the lead before Vinicius Junior beautifully equalized, resulting in both teams sharing the points.

Ancelotti said, “I think we started the game poorly. The team was quite nervous. We lost possession too often and lost many duels. The first half was not good at all.”

“But we improved in the second half. It was a difficult game because Morocco is a good team. I think there was some nervousness; in the first half, they launched very dangerous counterattacks. We should have controlled the game better.”

“But I am satisfied. We hoped to start the World Cup better, but Morocco is a strong team. Now we have to focus on the next game.”
