"Vozinha," the Cape Verde national team goalkeeper, revealed his favorite football clubs and praised "David Raya."
Following the 2026 World Cup Group H match where Spain drew Cape Verde (Cabo Verde) 0-0, 40-year-old veteran goalkeeper Vozinha delivered an outstanding performance with numerous saves, earning the Man of the Match award and rising to prominence from this game.
After the match, Vozinha said, "Last night, we played without pressure because we had nothing to lose. We followed our plan, played with energy and courage, which helped us achieve the result we wanted."
Vozinha further revealed, "I am a fan of Barcelona and Arsenal. I saw David Raya sitting on the bench; he is a very skilled goalkeeper. I also saw Rodri, who plays for one of the best teams in the world. But once on the pitch, we didn't focus on those things. The game was very tough, but we gave our all, and it turned out as well as possible. We know our team has quality, and that is what matters to us."
Additionally, he said he enjoys playing in big games against star players and prefers large stadiums filled with cheering fans, as that energizes them and helps them focus better on the match.
He concluded, "Our country is small, but our hearts are big. We are proud to be Cape Verdean, and we will fight with all we have to show the world who Cape Verdeans are."
Next up, Cape Verde will face Uruguay on Monday, 22 June at 05:00 GMT+7.
