Opta, a leading football statistics expert, has revealed its latest prediction using a supercomputer on which nation has the highest chance to win the 2026 World Cup, now that the final 32 teams have secured knockout stage spots.
The top favorite is France, with an 18.73 percent chance of winning after a dominant display of winning all three group stage matches (defeating Senegal 3-1, Iraq 3-0, and Norway 4-1).
Second favorite is defending champion Argentina, who also won all three group matches (beating Algeria 3-0, Austria 2-0, and Jordan 3-1), with a 16.56 percent chance of taking the title.
Coming in third is Spain, which did not concede any goals in the group stage (drawing Cape Verde 0-0, beating Saudi Arabia 4-0, and Uruguay 1-0), holding a 13.24 percent chance to win.
Meanwhile, fan-favorite England ranks fourth with a 10.02 percent chance of winning the championship.
Fifth favorite is Brazil at 6.70 percent, followed by the Netherlands at 4.95 percent, Portugal at 4.66 percent, and Germany at 4.60 percent.
